The short version, in plain language.
These are the terms for every tour and private day booked with The Tonle Sap Experience, Siem Reap. They are short because the rules are simple.
Booking
You can book online up to 2 hours before your preferred departure time, or by WhatsApp or email. A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation message. Group tours run with a minimum of 4 guests; if fewer have booked, we refer you to a partner operator so you can still do the tour that day, or you can switch to a private day with us.
Paying
Pay by credit card when you book online, or in cash to your guide on the day. Cash is accepted in US dollars or Khmer riel. Prices are in US dollars and include everything listed on the tour page: transport, boat tickets at the official price, and the guide where one is included.
Cancelling
Cancel free of charge up to 4 hours before your pickup time, by WhatsApp or email. A card booking cancelled later than that, or a no-show, is charged in full. Refunds go back to the same card.
If we have to cancel a tour, you receive a full refund. We do not cancel for rain.
Changing
Moving your booking to another date is free; tell us by WhatsApp or email at least 4 hours before your original pickup time. Changing the party size or adding extras to a private day is fine too; the price follows the builder.
Children
Babies under 2 travel free. On the daily group tours, children under 12 pay $10 less than the adult price. Private days are priced for the group, with no child discount; children 2 and over count as guests and take a seat in the tuk-tuk or van. We do not provide car seats.
Price match on private days
If you find the same private day offered at a lower price by a licensed tour company, send us a link or a screenshot before you travel and we will do our best to match it. This applies to private days only, for the same village, date, inclusions and party size. It is a promise to try, not a guarantee.
On the tour
Please follow the instructions of your guide and the boat crew, and wear the life jackets provided when asked. Tell us when you book about anything that affects being on a boat or walking on village walkways, and we will plan around it. Wheelchairs are not recommended.
